Our Project Delivery team are busy getting ready for the launch of Knight Frank Interiors’ new curated furniture collections. We caught up with Adele Bird, Head of Project Delivery to talk about her role within the team and where she’ll be travelling to once Covid restrictions are lifted.

Tell us about your journey into the industry

I have always loved property and design, even as a girl I would re-arrange my room and create little collections of items and take pictures of them; art was the subject that truly inspired me. I was always certain I wanted to study interior design at university until a college trip to Amsterdam. Here I visited a variety of design houses there, such as Droog design and this is where I realised it was the furniture I had a passion for. I studied Furniture and Product Design at UCA Rochester and never looked back. After graduating in 2008 I worked around in publishing, retail furniture trading and visual merchandising. When the opportunity came up to work for Knight Frank Interiors its was the natural choice, it has become my home! 

 
 
 
 

Describe a typical day as Head of Project Delivery

Every day brings something a little different in our department. We project manage all of our design-led turnkey furnishings solutions from drawing layouts in CAD, procuring furniture and accessories, arranging logistics and running various department analysis. On a typical day I work on anything from installs, new initiatives to analysis and team mentoring. At Knight Frank Interior’s we’re all about the people and mentoring and training is very important to me and my role as Head of Project Delivery. 

 

What do you enjoy most about working for Knight Frank Interiors?

I love the variety of properties we furnish, from cool and contemporary apartments on the 30th floor to some of London’s most historic and luxurious homes, such as The Arts House, by Henley. We work with clients from all over the world and build fantastic relationships with all of our partners. Most of all it’s the people here at Knight Frank Interiors that I enjoy, it’s an environment that is fun, encouraging and inspiring, where you go the extra mile because you want to.

What can we look out for from Project Delivery in 2021? 

Ensuring we keep our designs on trend, coming up very soon, we are launching our new curated furniture collections which we can’t wait to show you. As well as this, we also have some new multi-unit projects and show homes that are nearing to completion. 

 

Where is first on your travel list once restrictions lift?

First, I will definitely take a trip to see my family and friends, a long awaited catch up is needed. After that I would love to visit the Devon coast to soak up the sea air somewhere tranquil and rural.
