Behind the award-winning projects at Knight Frank Interiors, we have an incredible team of talented interior designers. We caught up with our Interior Designer, Jade, to see what her best-kept interior secret is, how she tailors the experience for each client, and what we should look out for from Knight Frank Interiors.

What is it like being an Interior Designer for Knight Frank Interiors?

Being a designer and providing an international interior design service for the world’s largest independent property consultancy, Knight Frank, is an incredibly exciting role. There’s never a dull day in the studio and I’m always busy. As a designer my role follows a structure, but no two days are the same. One day I could be working on a contemporary penthouse, the next it could be an opulent Chelsea townhouse, and that has to be one of my favourite things about the job.

How do you tailor the experience for each of your clients?

Each client has their own individual taste when it comes to interiors and most importantly, they all have various lifestyles to consider. These are always my main priorities when designing a scheme. Not only does the space have to be beautiful for them to look at and spend time in, but it must be practical and suit their everyday needs. It’s important to me for the client to feel involved in the design experience if they wish, and equally as important if they want a more hands off approach and to leave it to us experts!

What is your best kept interior design secret?

Art and styling. No matter how many projects I have done in the past, I continue to be amazed at on how the art and styling can bring the scheme to life and tie it all together.  Hanging art and putting out the accessories are typically the last things to happen on site - these finishing touches really do make all the difference. It goes from feeling incomplete to being completely transformed in those last few hours of an install. It is important to style our projects to help the potential homeowner envision themselves living there.

If you feel like your property is lacking a bit of ‘oomph’, but you have all the furniture, then maybe it’s falling short when it comes to the art and accessorising the space. It is so easy to make these little changes that can completely refresh a space, especially using the right size artwork. Within the world of interior design there is a little saying that says “start with the art” I would also say this is one of the best kept secrets with making a successful design scheme.

What is your favourite interior style?

I personally like various styles, some of my absolute favourites are Parisian interior design and an organic Mediterranean modern look. I would say my own home and personal taste is quite eclectic, it’s probably become a real blend of the styles I love.

I love a vintage find! When you mix antique items with new elements you can get that cosy aesthetic that places like Soho House and Heckfield Place do so well, this is ultimately the style that I’m drawn to.

What Knight Frank Interior projects should we watch out for this summer?

We are very busy over the next few months; I have just finished designing the interiors for a beautiful large apartment in Belgravia which is set to sell at the asking price of £14 million. You will have to keep your eyes out for our latest Surrey home project, Hambledon House, launching at the end of September - we can’t wait to show you! As we prepare for the new interior trends for next year, the team are visiting a variety of events including London Design Week and Maison et Objet.
