At Knight Frank Interiors, we are absolutely thrilled to reintroduce our exceptional Director, Tara Welsh Gerrard. In a recent conversation with Tara, we caught up with her about how her time off on maternity leave was, her sentiments on returning and the upcoming projects she is excited for.
Welcome back! We're thrilled to have you back with us. How has your maternity leave been? Can you share some highlights and memorable moments from this special time?
Thank you, it is so good to be back. You forget how energised being back in London can make you feel! Being off for a year, was very special for obvious reasons. Having Sophia has been a joy and has certainly taken my multitasking skills to new heights. I also got married last month, so lots of time spent organising our wedding in Ireland which was so much fun.
Transitioning back to work after being away can be challenging. What aspects of your job are you most excited to return to, and why?
Definitely, I slept very well after the first week back! It’s always inspiring seeing what projects have been completed over the course of the year. Being in the midst of the action, there is sometimes not enough time to look back and reflect on the great work that the team do. We’ve got possibly one of the best pipelines we have ever had, and I am incredibly excited about seeing it all come to fruition.
Can you tell us about any specific projects you were working on before your leave, and how you envision continuing or completing them now that you're back?
With my focus predominantly in New Homes, there are some projects which are yet to complete so I am looking forward to seeing the final installations, namely Marylebone Square.
We were also instructed on a townhouse in St Mary’s Gate, Kensington pre my departure. This was for a Thai client and the project included interior design and architecture and is definitely one of our trophy showcases. It is due to complete in comings weeks, and we can’t wait to show everyone the final finishes.
Are there any upcoming projects or initiatives at the company that you're particularly looking forward to being a part of or contributing to?
Since launching our offices in Dubai and New York, we are working on some incredibly exciting developments. Being a part of this growth and creating some of the best interior designs on a global scale is something so exciting to see having been a part of it from the very beginning. I am very much looking forward to all of the fantastic opportunities this will present us with in the future.
In addition to these geographical expansions, our company is constantly striving to push the envelope in terms of sustainable and environmentally conscious design. Our new ‘Conscious Collection’ has been a very proud moment for all of us at Knight Frank Interiors and it is very fulfilling to see how we can, not only create beautiful spaces for our clients, but also contribute positively to the environment.
Lastly, do you have any specific goals or growth aspirations for Knight Frank Interiors to strive for in the next year?
The most important thing is to ensure we continue to deliver on quality and service which is at the forefront of our values and continue to be market leading in what we do.
We are incredibly excited to have Tara back with us and, similarly to her, are very much looking forward to the extensive pipeline of projects we have ahead of us. To learn how you can get involved and find out more about the services we provide, head to our services page or contact us here
